Very good review Ghost. Nicely put together and a fair summary of the game. I'm impressed that you finished the game on 'hardened' setting in 4 hours though !

My only comment is that I think you are a bit mean about the graphics at 3/5. IMHO the graphics are well above average, with some very realistic scenery and the best facial expressions I have seen in a game (eg remember those poor Russian conscripts grimacing on the boat, who really did look scared when the Stukkas were diving/bombing)!

Well, what can I say? I have no life, and it's not exactly like I stopped to sniff the roses along the way...

As for the graphics, I feel that while they are slightly above average, the forthcoming titles in the next year will make them look old and dated - take a peek at the screenshots for Half Life 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or even Doom 3, once these games start hitting the shelves things won't look quite the same.

Also, the graphics in comparison to games of other genres don't stand up to much scrutiny, there's games out now that are beyond beautiful - Knights of the Old Republic being one of them, sheer loveliness on CD.

;) Ok Ghost, that's fair enough, but I guess I was comparing the graphics to current releases, not future releases..

I will have to check out Knights of the Old Republic, as you have given this the thumbs up on more than one ocassion.....

Depends if RPGs are your thang - I've been looking for a decent one for ages, and none seemed to grab me, however, KOTOR has me smitten - It's set in the Star Wars universe which means it gets all the benefits therin - marvellous sound, light sabres, the entire light/dark side thing, and a superb story.

Accurate review Ghost. It was way to short but thought graphics were great. My old graphics card ran it ever so well which I think is another plus for the programmers. Team play within the single player was a real improvement IMHO, I found I was trying to protect my squaddies and didn't want them to die. As you said in your review this was let down by certain members who were not allowed to die (why not?) I'm sure they can improve on this in the future. :D

KOTOR... your sure tempting me Ghost, not played an RPG since Diablo which I thought was rather poor. The last RPG I enjoyed was with Link on the good old SNES.

KOTOR (I shall stop mentioning it as often now) - I think it was written somewhere "If you like Star Wars - get it, if you like RPGs - get it" there may have been a third thing, but I can't recall what it might have been. You do still have to enjoy the charater building aspect of RPGs, and the occasional puzzles, and you won't finish it in four hours... in fact, I've just completed it for the first time - close enough to 23 hours, but now, now I can replay it and see what would have happened if I'd been.. well.. nastier..

Thank you for the kind words Shirley, they're much appreciated :)
