Unless I have missed something, I can't see any mention of H&D 2 on this forum. Have any of you tried it or indeed purchased it and if so, is it any good ?

I enjoyed the original game and mission pack (despite the various bugs) and was wondering whether the latest offering is worth going for.

Cheers. Wags

Nope, you're right Wags, nobody has said nothing about Hidden and Dangerous 2, although Jester2K did inform us about the original and the expansion pack being released as a freebie for download.

An average rating of 80% from Gamerankings database of reviews.

Can't say much more than that really :(

Didn't I read somewhere that it was another somewhat buggy game? Might be confusing it with H&D1.

Thanks chaps. From looking at various reviews it seems that it generally gets good marks, although game bugs are still a feature  . I note that this game was set back well over a year, so it is pretty poor to have not ironed out these problems. I think I will pass on purchasing (at least for now).

Just in case you're still wondering about this one Wags, there has been a single player demo released, and also the home page mentions a multi-player one too.... Although the link doesn't work for that one.

You can also download the demo from 3D Gamers or Gamers Hell (it's around the 185MB mark)

Ooooooh...

This is good!

The demo is set on the streets of Normandy, where German forces are rife and snipers are all too common, meaning that you have to advance through the streets with care, as this isn't any old FPS, there's no storming through the level with your Sten gun blazing, killing all Germans and picking up handily located health packs - oh no, this has a much more realistic edge than that.

Anyone who has played Hidden and Dangerous (and with it being made available for free, you have no excuse) will feel at home with the demo - worth a download even if you've never played a H&D game before though....

And watch out for the machine gun fiend who's hiding in the window...

Blues News have word that the multiplayer demo has now been released (as it was meant to be yesterday), and features 'an Occupation map titled Normandy3 and an Objectives map called Czech3'.

Apparently though, there's no co-op mode, which is a shame...

And after a brief play around, it would appear that Occupation is a from of Capture the Flag, and the map in question is a long bridge, with burning wrecks of vehicles on it - you're also given the chance to drive a jeep, or a tank, and have the usual array of weaponary to choose from, allowing you to customise your character to how you want him to be - although if you carry too much you'll tire quicker and be easy pickings for the enemy.

I may well have to buy this game now.
