Yeah but I'm assuming that if there's a strong enough community building behind this thing (especially on the multiplayer side of things) then there'll be some skilled artistic bods out there unlike you and me who can turn out some decent maps like those done in UT etc.

Well, CoDfiles.com would probably be the best place to keep an eye on for mods, maps, skins, etc in development.

Worryingly, it seems that the game already has it's multiplayer cheats - see here, which means they've posted an anti-cheat petition - here.

Ho hum.

Ok, I don't know if this rates as a bug or what but I've finally got past those Stukkas (yes yes I know, old Dan's a slowcoach, zimmer in one hand rifle in the other....), anyhow I'm in a block of flats, cleared it top to bottom all objectives complete except regroupling with Sgt Pavlov on the 4th floor. I'm here and he's here and all the soldiers are here....and the game won't recognise it and move us on.

Any ideas?

Have you checked the basement?

I thought I had cleared that building and found a single axis hiding in the basement.

trying to do the game on Veteran at the moment. Absolutely no health anywhere! unsure.gif Took me a while to get up the banks of the Volga in Stalingrad. Ouch Ouch!!

No, everything's done (all my objectives are ticked) except the meeting with Pavlov, and he's not having any. tis a tad frustrating.

silly question, i know but there isn't an arrow above or below your objective star on your compass?

Have you gone right up to him?

Try clubbing him, maybe that will get his attention biggrin.gif

So when does the dreaded Stukka level appear.

I've just arrived at the POW camp.

I've tried standing ontop of him, using him, leading him into other rooms on the floor and so forth. The compass (and arrow) both say I'm where I'm supposed to be.

I may go back to an earlier save point and try again. Maybe you're right and I'm missing something obvious. rolleyes.gif

ordep, the stukka level only really seemed to catch me out.

(To solve it I cheated and read a hint book whilst on a trip to London - just how to deal with this bit mind tongue.gif ) You've got a good bit of fun before the Stukka bit and I agree with others that it's well worth getting past it.

Dan, that sounds like the best idea, to go back to the previous saved game. When I played, I remember that Pavlov gave the next instruction when I walked up to him...no need to hit him, jump up and down, etc. It's strange though if all the objectives are ticked.

As Sureshot says, its also worth going down to the basement/lower ground level as I recall that there was a Axis soldier lurking around, but a grenade down the stairs soon flushed him out... wink.gif, so it may be that although the objective is ticked, the building hasn't been fully cleared.

Solved the mystery!

I played it again and this time did the floors in the order that the objectives arrow required and this time Pavlov said his lines ok. I did check downstairs last time - there were 2 troopers both deaded ...so it must have been the order of kills that was wrong.

Still, moving on now... biggrin.gif

I was hoping for more snipers in this level, like in the Mohaa sniper level.

The potential for more was astounding when you take a look around the scenery in CoD Stalingrad. Was a little disappointed with the inability of the axis to hit the target (ie me!). I tried lining up my shot in full view intentionally with 2 axis soldiers (near the train station) and they both shot about 6 or 7 times before they scored a hit. I was hovering my scope over them both for quite a while waiting to see. This made the game a bit easier I feel. I appreciate that the AI is slightly better, but their ability is a bit suspect.

The Red Square level would have been great if, aswell as dispatching the officers, you had to contend with being spotted by snipers on the roofs of the buildings around the axis front line area.

Just my thoughts so far
If you disagree let me know. I know that many people hated the Mohaa sniper level, but I loved it. smile.gif

Sureshot, you obviously live up to your name, if you loved that level in MOHAA! tongue.gif

Seiously, though, I along with many others I think, found it quite a tough level (MOHAA sniper map), as it was very tricky seeing where the enemy were shooting from mad.gif

I agree that in CoD, some of the Axis' sniping could have been better. Try the multiplayer game though and you will love some of the sniping opportunities ! biggrin.gif

The Mohaa sniper level took a couple of shots for me at first, but overall i loved the thrill of the hunt! It was so in contrast to the run amok style associated with the mp game and other levels in the sp section. The atmospherics in it were also fantastic; the rain on the roofs and the planes overhead. smile.gif

I managed to complete the level on hard, getting the whole squad through to the tank. It takes you into a secret level called Bazooka Joe. Your squad dies as your screen is black and then the level comes up again saying that you have to hide before bazooka joe (your medic on the last level) comes looking for you. a bit like hid and seek! biggrin.gif

I am still adjusting to the mp CoD, but agree Wags that the sniping opps are great ph34r.gif . I also love the way the scope moves around if you are standing up decreasing the accuracy slightly. Also, CoD sp doesn't seem to add anymore enemy when you do the game on Veteran mode which is a shame. Sorry if that is a spoiler for people tongue.gif

Gosh - that certainly is dedication to a game, after I played through the sniper level once I certainly didn't feel like doing it again, the first time through the level is such a case of trial and error as you're sniped by enemies you had no chance of seeing... and hindered by your team mates blundering straight into the path of any enemy fire (or them standing still right in front of a sniper) - Well Played Sureshot!

Snipers in the Red Square? Well, it'd probably make the expereince more interesting.. as long as you don't want snipers shooting at you during that first initial (unarmed) charge - that'd just be sadistic...

I must say that the multiplayer hasn't grabbed me as MOHs did, but I shall ramble about this elsewhere.
