Article Guidelines
Articles should be kept game-related, but can cover all aspects - from your own personal opinion on a gaming issue, to a guide helping people master certain tricky aspects of games - there's no strict guidelines on what you write, we just ask that you keep it clean. Review Guidelines Reviews should be submitted in the Rich Text Format, and should try to contain both the good and bad points of the game in question, it need not be a recent release but the game must still be available for sale to the general public. The final rating will be broken down into five different sections, plus a total, the format for which are as follows: Setup - How easy the game is to install, if and where glitches arose, how fast the install went and if it handles the procedure well (i.e. doesn't store things like save files in ridiculous places) Graphics - How does the game look, are graphical glitches common place, does the game noticeably slow down when too many items are on screen. Sound - How in the groove does the sound come across, is there good use of ambients, stereo, surround sound and so on. Gameplay - How well does the game flow, does it make you want to come back for more Longevity - How long does the game last, does the game have any potential replay value Total - the overall rating. All categories are rated out of five, with one being poor and five being excellent. System specs should also be included at the end of the review - the reviewers machine, the recommended, and the minimum specs. Screenshots can either be sent with the review, or a member of the admin team will locate appropriate screens. If you wish to take your own screenshots yet the game doesn't have an in-built option for such things - download the demo version of Fraps, this will enable you to save screenshots. Send your articles to: submissions at www.exiled-gamers.co.uk New Member Pips We're always after new 'pips' to go beneath a members avatar. Template download link below, it's currently set up as the very first pip image (Space Invaders - 70s), but the layers are split in such a way that it's easy to chop and change things without altering other parts of the image. Download Template Images should stay the same size - 105px x 38px - for the sake of consistancy, as should the background colour. The 2000s era should probably be referred to as The 00's, but that's open to change (as are most things, if you come up with a good enough suggestion) Also, the rather long (it's long enough if you try to manage it, anyhow) list of game names can be downloaded and viewed by clicking here - just so you know what we've got so far. Site Code Have a suggestion for making the site look/run better? Think you can produce a stunning CSS for use on the front end? Either post it in Website Feedback & Ideas or mail us at our submissions email address. Cheers! |
