SEGA has released a playable demo for Medieval 2: Total War, allowing you to try out the latest strategy game by The Creative Assembly. Set in the most turbulent and bloody era in European history, Medieval 2: Total War will allow gamers to lead their armies across the battlefields of Europe and the Holy Land before discovering the Americas and doing battle with the fearsome Aztecs. The game boasts an impressive array of new graphical and gameplay enhancements, including the capability for a massive 10,000 dynamic characters to be taken into battle at any one time. It will also feature a fully redesigned multiplayer mode that offers a dynamic multi-battle campaign, over 200 new units, greater depth in siege warfare, new weaponry and a highly detailed building damage model.
487MBs from Gamers Hell or Pixel Rage Downloading it now - never got around to getting Rome: Total War, so maybe I can just get this instead. |

Downloading and got half of it so far. I'll let you know what I think of it when I've got the other half.

Well, don't think much so far. It fails to run - all I get is the MS crash report thing. I'm not alone either.
Medieval 2 Total War - Official Forum Demo support? thread Can't be bothered to go through the millions of pages in that demo support thread. Why they've chosen to lump people's requests for support into one huge thread is beyond me. It doesn't help to get to the root of the problem when there's so much irrelevant crap you have to wade through first. I can't confirm it but a casual reading of the support thread (first page) appears to suggest this game doesn't support 32bit AMD processors. Seems absurd so it's probably inaccurate but it just might be true. It'd be interesting to see what other's have to say about it though. Total War Centre - alternative Forum --------------------

Hmmm... I'd tell you if it worked for me if I could download the damned thing!
Tried four times now, and each time the download stops half way through - although the rest of my net connetion is unaffected. Frustrating. |

Same thing happened to me regarding the Dark Messiah demo - downloaded it through Steam in the end.
I suggest Netherlands server if downloading from Gamershell. Both Zen and Seriously Internet often time out on me and corrupt the download, plus they're often as slow as hell in my experience too (when new demo etc comes out). --------------------
