Just finished playing Tomb Raider: Legend, and thought that it was rather nifty - although there were several sections which were merely average, and the story was a bit... well... disappointing.
Which got me to thinking, which games have you truly loved the story of? I loved the Soul Reaver/Legacy of Kain approach (Soul Reaver being the better of the two), and also the rather nifty Broken Sword - which is also a rather well researched storyline. Command & Conquer (right up till Renegade/Generals, which I didn't play) always had a nice background story going on too. Other than that, quite a lot of my games tend to involve killing things without any real background as to why - which is a tad depressing. |
