In the car on the 6-stack CD I have: Audioslave, Soundgarden, Temple of The Dog, Alice in Chains, Foo fighters,Cold Play (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)
I also like Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Creed, Green Day (converted by my eldest son (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif) ), P.O.D, Incubus, Black Sabbath/Ozzy, The Doors........I could go on and on, but you'll get the idea. Funnily enough I also like classical e.g. Vivaldi, Albioni, Corelli..... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I should play this in the car as it would probably slow me down (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) Oh and I like Jazz as well. |

Music...well
Justin King, John Martyn, Nick Drake, Tommy Emmanuel, John Butler Trio - acoustical brilliance And as of late I have been listening to more rocky stuff, mainly that we play in the band.. Muse, Thin Lizzy, Audioslave, Radiohead, Queens of the Stone Age And I'll throw Bob Zabek in there as he is an awesome guitarist (Google Video search his name and watch the Walk on Water video (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif) ) |

Well at the moment I am listening to:
Jack Johnson, Franz Ferdinand, Magic Numbers, The Editors and Jose Gonzalez. But I have a love for all of the following; Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nirvana (Unplugged album is superb), Massive Attack (Mezzanine), KT Tunstall (gave it a try and loved it), The Doors, Rolling Stones, Air, Norah Jones, Tenacious D, Paul Simon, REM (early stuff), U2 (again early stuff like Joshua Tree), general 60's Vietnam type music too. I also enjoy listening to Jazz (Miles Davies, Louis Armstrong) some Classical stuff too although its usually MrsSureshot that puts that on, but liking it so far. And I love the Frank Sinatra stuff and all the jazz standards I still have a good collection of house music from my earlier days such as Sasha, Daft Punk, Sub Club, Soma and various Global Underground disks which usually get stuck on when I am in the mood.

Soundgarden!! I used to love them, haven't heard them in years!! Black Hole Sun....excellent! On a similar note to them I used to like Stone Temple Pilots and Pearl Jam, again haven't listened to their stuff in years though. Going off Coldplay, just a bit boring and Radiohead-lite now. As you can see I'l pretty much try anything. "Suck it and See" as the record store Fopp says and that pretty much my motto too (but only about Music and Food though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ) |

I'm very similar to Slim but then I like Prodigy and such things as well, tho I don't think he minds it. I just let him find new bands like John Butler Trio tehn I get loads of their music.
Don't know where he finds out about them from. |

wag's.. sound like my kinda car driver with decent music....
i have got too many cd's in my car.... but i have banned myself from listening to audioslave's latest album out of exile as it makes me drive too fast..... (Exeter to margate in a little over 3 and a bit hours!) (250+ miles in about 200 minutes..... thats going some even in a little 1.4 citroen AX GT!) I recently found soundgarden... didnt even realise i had it to be honest! thing i find is that chris cornell is a great vocalist on album's, but live, he doesnt have the depth in his voice i feel or do himself justice....... Wags and sureshot.... another band you would like as i said earlier is muse, they are a rock outfit, but the vocalist sings in a kinda operatic fashion (not full blown opera style but in that sorta fashion) and he is an amazing guitarist.... and i advise that you find the dvd they released where they where live at glastonbury ( http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=srmr&pa...2M&title=843036 ) as it is an amazing piece of rock music, especially the first song hysteria. Also yeah the RHCP are a great band, a bit like an american U2 is some aspect's, been about for years, but only recently done the bulk of their best stuff i feel. Although californication is a classic. Greenday nowaday's i find are waaay to pop music focused, old albums like international superhits etc i think are the best, the latest one is ok, but i think is waaaay too overplayed! |

So, you either averaged 75mph*, Pilchy, or more likely my maths is shot. In any case, I think I'd better steer clear of you when you're on the road. Scary to think that was just an average too - all those winding country roads, towns and not just motorways to navigate - plus stops and knowing you, you had to get plenty of food/drink at the service station as well as petrol.
*If Cat or Slim could work out Pilch's speed accurately then I'd be grateful and you'd be getting some good practise in for your maths GCSE! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif) |

You are right, that is 75. Can't be anymore accurate becuase we don't know the exact distance or time (250+ is a bit rough).
Whenever I listen to Muse its always Hysteria, absolutly brilliant song. EDIT: Another artist worth a mention is Damian Rice, I mainly listen to him stuff becuase I can kinda play and sing it, I'm crap at singing most other stuff. |

Well the journey home i would say is about 45% Motorway, 35% dual carrigeway, 20% single carrigeway. I think it is about 257 miles to be exact (ill check next week when i come home). So the main thing is to allow for the enforced speed limit's, IE camera's, which i know where they are but even then when there is a speed limit and i know there is a camera ill go easy...
But alas this isnt what the topic is about... i just mentioned me listening to audioslave when driving isnt good.. generally means that i go fast! Cat - i order you mate buy the above mentioned DVD.. you wont regret it! |

Now ordering DVD - Sunburn and Hysteria on the same disk! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)
I'll blame you for contributing to the damage I've done to by back account this week and also thank you for adding to my DVD collection (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I used to like Muse - although I must admit that I rarely listen to them these days.
Currently listening to - Springsteen, Green Day, Jack Johnson, Nizlopi, Queen, Jose Gonzalez and the Kaiser Chiefs. I'm not sure you can count International Superhits as an 'old album', what with it being a Greatest Hits complation released in the last five years and all that.. |
