Not Monkey Bubble Junior (or whatever it's called) which was so frustrating (lot's of that in here at the moment) that I just end up wanting to flush the GB down the loo.

Looking for nice 1 or 2 person games of a puzzle nature. Preferably where the games' difficulty is increased by something other than it just getting faster.

Cheers

Dan

Darn...

The missus has asked for a GBA for her birthday (which was something of a shock, I must admit) and I was going to ask you to suggest titles to me..

Ho hum.

Try having a look on Game Rankings.com and see if anything there appeals...

Mr Pig I'm stunned. I didn't think you were old enough for long trousers, let alone a missus. Unless it's an euphemism for something - though gawd know what.

I shall pass on any decent ones I come across. I know the GBA supports a version of Bust a move which was an excellent ps1 puzzle game.

Missus in all but the expensive ceremony thing... It's just because girlfriend still sounds like something from primary school... the other half is just bizarre, and I really can't think of what else to call her :D

She'd be so pleased to read this...

We shall of course just Have to pass it on to her if only to see what variation of pork scratchings are produced :D

Young 'uns often use partner to suggest a shared role but I agree tis a minefield of..."I'm your what!?"

I shall go check out your link before I get us both roasted over a slow fire.

I don't know.. partner sounds like some kind of 70's T.V. cop show situation..

Anyway!

To keep this game related (so I don't dig my own grave) here's the puzzle section from Play.com which, when used in conjunction with my first link, should provide you with some possibilities...

Possibly

You're right - tetris is in a way the only puzzle game you ever need. This said I almost picked up a copy of Bust a move but the cover pictures suggested something horrible had been done to it. Like most game machines, it's a game all it's own - finding the gems that make the machine worthwhile. Got my eye open for Mr Driller that's due out on it sometime.

Columns Crown is quite a nice tetris clone variation and is actually a game I might be playing for a while.

It does seem a shame that such a neat little machine is not really suitably used by the game producers - that's to say there is an enthusiasm for porting over successful games to the format, without allowing that the game may not suit the limitations of the machine.

Looking at GameFAQ I'd guess that my assumption over Bustamove was right which is a great shame as it was an excellent two man game on the PsOne.

It's a good game, but I have a longstanding reservation on games of this ilk. Considering the fact that it is a puzzle based game which suggests that brain is supposedly more important than fast reactions I am severely pissed off (the swear box can have that one) that it's only method for making the game harder is that at some point everything speeds up. Far better would be to add more shapes/colours, and so on.

This severely gets my Goat!

Grrrrrr

I almost bought - and now deeply regret not doing so - a game from a new shop opened in my home town. Mr Driller is a simple, pretty and well regarded game on numerous consoles and arcade set ups. So I was tempted (but strapped for cash at the time) when I saw Mr Driller2 for the GBA in this new store.

Maybe next week I can get back there.....hoping they don't sell out....it's the only true game shop in the neighbourhood.
