Although based in the US of A (meaning that your more than likely to get crap pings if you tried to join in) A Soldiers War - a game which utilizes the Desert Combat modification for Battlefield 1942, will start on January 1st, 2005. The tournament is set in alternative near-future where the world is at war as two competing powers, NATO and the newly reconstituted communist Warsaw Pact battle for global control.

For more details on the story and work behind A Soldiers War - you can visit http://www.dcadproductions.com - the official home page is http://www.asoldierswar.com/ - a great idea in my humble opinion, would be fantastic to see something like this in the UK
