Hi

Couldn't find a Doom 3 thread to post this is, but play.com have it for £17.99 delivered.

If memory serves, this didnt get released too long ago.

Oh well, maybe HL2 will be in my price range soon too... (not)

Disappointing game??

The original Doom 3 thread can be found here

I think it was released in early August? Although I may be wrong.

However, the game was very dark, and lacked any real 'freedom' at all - one to miss.

Highly repetitive. Predictable. Monotonous. Puncuated by the odd suspenseful moment early on. Then it's all the same. So similar, it'll aggravate. Scenery is cut and paste, you get sick of seeing the same thing all the time. A question of unlock the door, shoot the monster that springs out of the dark. Unlock the next door, shoot the monster etc.

You can borrow my copy if you want. I'm not letting you have HL2 though.... :P

Consider saving yourself £18 for Doom 3, so that makes HL2 £27 from Amazon (use the link below) - £18 (saved from not getting Doom 3) = £9. Not a bad price. Any tight-arsed accountant could tell you that.

I dont have £9, let alone any other amount. I aint tight Spook, I just think games are overpriced.

Also, I dont really have that much time to play, so dont see the need to pay top dollar.

Fair enough. Guess you've got to save some money for beer, eh.

Games overpriced? Are you crazy? ;)

If you want to borrow Doom 3, no problemo. Just yell.

I agree with Mr Spook.

The eye candy in Doom3 is excellent and it has been useful for testing out my 6800GT :thumb: , but boring and highly repetitive gameplay left me feeling very disappointed.

As I have said several time before, it will be interesting to see the excellent Doom3 engine put to better use with future game releases.... :thumb:
