More fun to be had with Far Cry Instincts.

Sadly not for me though, as I don't own a console.

Far Cry Instincts will not be a straight port of the PC game. It will retain the same primary story arc, weapons, vehicles, wide-open jungle environments, and play style from the original game, while adding weapons, vehicles, and new missions not seen in the PC version.

Instincts will also feature environmental traps like branch whips, spike pits, and log swings that mercs will set for you. As you play the game, you'll learn how to detect these traps, how to disable them, and, eventually, how to set them.

Those who played the original Far Cry will remember that much of the plot centered on the development of a powerful mutagen. In Instincts, the protagonist, Jack Carver, will actually be fully infected by this mutagen, turning him into a superhuman creature. You'll still be able to fight with weapons, but you'll also have powerful melee attacks and extrasensory capabilities.

The Gamecube may not be as powerful as the likes of the PS2 & Xbox, but it sure as hell has games that look even better than those on them and can even keep up. It runs with quite a powerful ATI GPU for heavens sakes! One obvious reason why this game wouldn't make it on this console is because I doubt there is a big market for it, since as always, people think the Nintendo consoles are for kiddies, even with some top quality adult-like games on it. It's also obvious that many PC ports tend to go on the Xbox due to it being just a crappy PC in a huge box and because many games on it are basically PC-like & it's main market is targeted towards these people. And luckily sometimes these games make it on the PS2 at times. So it's not always about powerful which is what Microsoft and their Crapbox is all about. Besides why get it on console when you can get it for the PC where FPS games work best, even if this new version offers completely new stuff.
