Since getting this machine I've not been gaming on the pc. This is mostly because, i) the console is a novelty, ii) the console works without the need to tweak, patch, swear and so on and iii) Halo is suuuuperb.

However I also picked up a couple of cheapies and having seen a nice demo I grabbed Serious Sam.

SS is fun in a weird, cartoon killing kind of way. I remember trying to get it to run on the pc, thinking...hey this is pretty goo....damn it! As the thing hung, and hung again. It was such a mess and such a pain that I finally abandoned it. Which is a shame because if this is anything to go by, it would probably have been a lot of fun.

Now you'll have to excuse me, Sam is waiting for me.

Yeah but in 6 months you'll be wanting to rip the graphics card out for a faster one and those games'll look outdated...

And then you'll realise that such things need faster processors too, and then you'll notice that these two items can be quite expensive if you're going for top of the line stuff...

Then you'll curl up into a ball on the floor and wonder why you had to get into PC Gaming...

But that's probably just me... since you were talking about X-Boxes.. erm...

It's true that since starting this thread (under a different name) I haven't been playing much with the x-box but have instead been devoting myself to the far more involving pleasure of computers.

Here the swear box firmly grabs me by the throat to prevent me overloading the site with expletatives as said pc is currently quite knackered.

I think I shall retell this tale of woe elsewhere on the site. :(

Tankus - check out the Classic range. There's some nice stuff in it and some of it's 1/2 price.

Some of the Yaeger reviews are a little less than enthusiastic, maybe rent before you buy.

Frankly I just think Bill is wasting time & MORE money trying to enter the console market again. Yeah as you can tell, I just dont like the Xbox as its just a peice of American junk :lol: ! Microsoft, you should just stick with producing lousy full of bugs & errors Operating Systems & expensive money thieving software.

2 things microsoft have done are good.. the Motocross madness series and midtown madness series... I mean come on naoki, how many hours we spent playing them at each others houses... Especially the chase the ball mode on motoX madness??

Actually make that 5 if you include hardware, the keyboards, very good, joystick's like mine are ace to use and the mice... although i dont use one they still started a big trend!

The X-Box i do prefer, purely that i feel SOME of the games that have been released are good... Halo, Project Gotham etc, but the thing is i am biased... played more time on X-box that any other console other than the old sega megadrive and your dream cast!!!

Rumour has it ; 5Ghz processor for the xbox 2:o

If they can get the games right and the price right they will be onto a winner.
