My server motherboard (ECS K7S5A rev 1) for about the past 6 months has slowly been smoking and starting to die.. (The capacitors when the machine is turned off start to smoke :( ) Recently i noticed it is now crashing a lot more than usual.

And so i have been looking at buying one board for my server for definate and maybe one for my main machine as this ASRock K7vt4-4x has no real tweaking option's....

Just wondered on what everyones views where on the Asus A7N8X-X SKT A Nforce2 board?

The Asus A7N8X line of motherboards have been praised by many as one of the best makes during the time they came out offering great performance and tweaking options. And seeing as they are very cheap nowadays, it would be good to get one since they are still good. The Nforce2 though obviously outdated now is still good itself. You could easily use this for your main machine and the one in it now to be used as the server.

I think Overclockers do the same motherboard for a few pence cheaper, so it just depends on delivery costs.

As far as the board itself goes, I used one in another build, and have never had any cause for complaint.

Well chances are i will get one..

Just now i decided to add in a XP2500 Mobile Barton ( The mobiles run cooler and the VCore is 1.45 instead of 1.65 so it overclocks better....)

The only one i have seen so far is the 266fsb which is no good when i got PC2700 memory inside my machine...
