I am currently using Win 98SE and have recently installed a Radeon 9600 Pro Atlantis graphics card.
The driver which was installed with this card is the Catalyst 3.6 dated 15/7/03. I note there is now a 4.3 version available.
I am experiencing a couple of games hanging, notably Ghost Recon and newly loaded Deus Ex Invisible War.
I don't know if this is an incompatibility with anything else I have recently updated, eg. Zonealarm and Opera or if the drivers are the cause.
Can anyone tell me please if it would be worth updating to these new drivers, or, if they are not stable enough an older version. Would I notice a difference?
Thanks

Hi gigs, I also have the 9600 Pro (MediaMax) but with Xp. I normally always use the latest drivers and can't remember ever having to revert back to old drivers. Your drivers are old and I would suggest you should obtain the latest drivers for Win 98 Here which are Catalyst 4.7 for Win 98/Me.

If they are unstable for you then older versions are available. Make sure you uninstall your old drivers first, follow the guide for your operating system here

I presume you have installed any patches that are required for the games you are having problems with?

Thanks for your reply. Yes the games are patched. I will try the new drivers and see if they make a difference.
Appreciate your advice.
