Hi Pilchy. Yeah, I got back on to 'em late tonight (when they failed to return my call and give me an update).

Don't like it when they say they are gonna do something and then don't. Engineer is allegedly investigating the problem, but I feel there is probably a waiting list or something.

If they don't act within a reasonable time, I'm off.

The Capacity Report shows that some of the Virtual circuits to your local exchange are close capacity at peak times. During peak times you may notice a drop in the speed of your ADSL connection. BT will be in the process of planning an upgrade in capacity to your exchange and are aware of the issue.

Thats not so bad then.

Same as Ordep.

Which is nice.

Except I live in a rural like area as with the Pig....so why isn't it green?

Would you believe I'm a "glass is half empty" kind of person? :P

well, unsurprisingly here in central london my exchange is red  and appears to be having an upgrade soon... :D

However, i am yet to be convinced of BT's abilities. Especially as they argue about our ability to receive international calls. :o

Your line (0207xxxxxxxx) is connected to the Kingsland Green exchange.

Status: Red
(Code 12:6)

Most Virtual Circuits to your local exchange are running at capacity at peak times, this will result in a slowdown of your connection, browsing and download speeds. BT are aware of the issue and are in the process of increasing capacity to this exchange.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BT have scheduled an upgrade for your exchange on: nov-04.

The information for your exchange was last updated: 2004-08-03 13:31

If I've worked it out correctly, Naoki, 272000 kbps works out as 272 mbits, or 33mbytes per second. Just a glitche of somekind, but my connection is normally between 1mbit and 2mbits per sec, just that's it's up and down all the time. Plus, due to the unreliability of upload speed (I think) as well as quite high packet loss, the service so far hasn't worked out all that well for decent game ping, either fast or steady. Trying to sort it out though...
