Q

Why a cdrw and a dvdrw?

I grant you the cdrw is only £26 but surely the dvdrw will do cds too?

Just looking to save you a tiny bit of moolah :P

I would actually get a normally DVD Drive, instead of CD-RW.

AS dan said the DVD-RW will write CD's fine, but one thing that naoki made aware to me is constant use of CD/DVD-RW does increase where and tear on the drive so a DVD drive just means that you can read CD/DVD's then have the other drive purely for writing..

Because writing cd's on a dvd writer takes a long time and that aint fun. P.s forgot the floppy :P although I could get a nice dvd player

Anyone know where I can get some of these parts cheaper

That should last you, at least......a couple of years.

My only comment, I'm not keen on the usb/headphone sockets etc at the top of the case.

Other than that, a top notch piece of kit Besty. Farther Christmas coming early eh.

Okay from your selection of components Besty it seems to have all added up to around £1047.28?? What kind of budget have you got planned. I've also noticed that you are going for the Socket 939 versions of the CPU & motherboard. The Socket 754 is cheaper so that may save you some money. Only problem is, since I haven't been up to date much about the Althon64's, do the different versions make any difference in performance?

It works out that I am saving aronund 40 quid if i go for the 745 64 bit but i think that the 939 is a bit fasterand for 40 quid im not realy worried

Never asked yet but are you building this new spec computer for yourself or someone else? Cause if it is for yourself and you already own the computer that you are already on, I would off thought it would be best to re-use some components so you can save some more extra cash. Unless your building a second computer that is. Just realised, what about a monitor as well or are you going to be re-using one?

I guess that £200 is going towards this new one. Where is the rest coming from then :D ? Looks like the A64 is cheaper on that website although I've never really heard of them before. Guess I'm going to bookmark that site as well!

The rest of the money is either comin from santa or if i can get the work extremely hard graft. I seen the site advertised in a computer magazine. I would love to save a bit more and i know delivery and stuff is gonna cost a pretty penny
