I've been playing VC since it was released (PC version)
My computer has never had a problem running it. I run it in 1024X768 rez , it looks gorgeous and runs like a dream even with a lot of action on screen. I only get a slight stutter when the PC accesses the disk.

Just lately I can't get the game to start.
I get the Rockstar logo, then the frames of the razor blade and gun etc with game action in the background, then the splash screen showing the games characters, but, the pink load bar is missing. Yet after a short while I hear the sound effect that says the game has loaded but all I see is a black screen and my PC has locked up, solid.

I have not changed my GFX card or drivers.
I've tried re-installing the game. I've also cleaned the CD.

does anyone have any other suggestions ?

Have you tried checking out the support offered on the home page? this could apply to you, or if you have a Radeon card maybe this will be of some help.

A great help

thanks to you one of the best computer games ever written, is now back running smooth as silk on my puter.

I'd completed 98% of the game and all my save files were corrupted when some numpty put in a load of cheats.
but I dont mind starting it all again.

My problem was caused by my brother inlaw (crispy from the exiled gamers arcade) typing in a cheat that lets the people in the city fight each other.

This corrupted all the save game files. I had to uninstall the game, delete the save game folder AND do a complete registry clean up (which I hate doing) but its worth it for this master piece.

and Besty, I havn't attacked my tower yet but I have serviced an ADSL modem with my claw hammer before sending it back to the cowboys that made it. I have also introduced several keyboards to the corner of my monitor but that was only because Bill gates's arse wasn't near by.
