Eurogamer have an article about the plethora of unplayed games in their collection:
QUOTE
Let's have a look at this writer's personal 'to play' pile: MGS: The Twin Snakes, Super Mario Sunshine, Knights of the Old Republic, Full Spectrum Warrior, True Crime, Deus Ex 2. 'Unfinished': The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Metroid Prime

His suggestion to solve this problem?
QUOTE
The solution to our madness? Maybe, and this has been discussed before at length, games could be shorter. Make them film-length experiences at budget prices. An evening in with a game. Three hours, bang, done. Entertained. Thank you very much Mr. Publisher.

Any unplayed games in your collection? Or half played and then left ones?

Yes, I'm guilty as charged. Some games are not even out of their cellophane wrappers. Others I've loaded up once (Starsky and Hutch) and played once and thought what a load of... and are waiting to be uninstalled. Some games just seem to be a little too complicated for me, I don't enjoy learning loads of different keys so games like Alien vs Predator which admittedly don't have that many keys are left unplayed. Guess I'm just lazy and prefer games I can just suss out in action and have a minimum of controls to figure out. I'd say that a good 6 out of 10 games I've ever bought (for PC) have either been unplayed or played so little as to make them very bad choices for purchase.

The best value games I've bought include BF1942 (of course) and GTA 3 (both PC). Oh, and Max Payne and to a lesser extent UT. Others have been Metal Gear Solid (PS), Tenchu Stealth Assasisn (PS) Fifa 99/98 (PS) and Grand Turismo 2 (PS), Street Fighter 2 (SNES), Legend of Zelda (SNES), NHL Hockey (Megadrive) and quite a few other Megadrive games, and loads and loads of Spectrum games. I could go on, but the general trend is that I've played some games obsessively, and most of these were when I was younger and now I just seem to be very jaded of playing games in general.

These days I just play the flash games on this site and do terribly (mostly) - Curveball is a current obsession.

I normally stick to one game until I complete it. If it has a MP element which I like then I let it reside on the HD otherwise it's uninstalled. The only game I didn't complete was Prince of Persia on the SNES, there was some run/jump which I couldn't do and so prevented me completing the game :(

There are two games I have installed which I haven't completed - Operation Flashpoint which I had a brief dabble at, realised (same as Spook) that there were loads of keys to learn and so left it for a rainy day. The other is C & C Generals (Deluxe Edition) great game loved it, completed Generals but couldn't face playing the add on Zero Hour straight after, needed a change of genre so that too is waiting to be completed.

Games waiting to be installed - Deus Ex Invisible War and Prince of Persia Sands of Time. They will have to wait their turn as I've just installed MOH Breakthrough.

In the meantime I'm keeping an eye out on Ebay for the following titles which are ones I meant to buy at the time but didn't get round to it - Morrowind, Vice City, Medieval Total War, KOTOR and the list goes on...

The only new game I intend to buy is Half Life 2 (has been on pre-order with Play for a year!), so whatever I'm playing at the time will have to go on the back burner. So, by the time I'm through playing all of the above I reckon Doom 3 will be out on a budget title. :D

For me there just isn't enough time. Now if I could just learn to do without any sleep...

You ought to check out branches of W.H. Smith's, Mundy; they've been selling off older and even recent past PC releases often at ridiculous prices. I saw Morrowind for £5 a while back (you can buy it for under a tenner as part of the PCGamer range) and Medieval: Total War (for £10) so it might be worth trawling through the (usually poorly stocked) racks of a WHS as you might just find a few of the titles you've mentioned going cheap.

I've got Prince of Persia SoT, too, had it months and months, since last year, picked up for £10 in PCWorld. I haven't installed it yet either! It even came with a gamepad converter which I'll never use - hate the damn things, reason why I hardly ever use the PS2 I bought a couple of years ago - maybe I ought to sell 'em all on Ebay!

Games yet to be played: Silent Hill 2, started but never finished and the Bloodmoon Expansion Pack for Morrowind, to name but two!!!

P.S. I am STILL a MOH multiplayer junkie which takes up most of my gaming time.....my hands shake at the thought of some imminent fragging!
