I do think we should give this a go, on Wednesdays to start with...

Just need a list of games that we can rotate through, so far I've come up with:
  • Return To Castle Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory
  • Medal of Honor (Spearhead as well?)
  • Call of Duty
  • Battlefield 1942 (and its mods)
  • Tribes 2 (possibly - depending on how many people have it, and if the key generator is still working)
If the Tribes 2 CD key generator still works, then I'll gladly send people copies of the download (must admit that since downloading Tribes 2, I've played the tutorial and not touched it since... I'd make great cannon fodder if we played this one)

Anything missing?

Well not that I've succeeded playing them online, but you've no mention of UT either in vanilla format or in it's later UT03 or 04 versions, or it's various mods.

I like the idea of a regular agreed gathering, not lease cause we (as in you guys) can help the less bb minded (as in me) to get ourselves sorted out prior to the playdate. :P

What about Rebel's idea of alternative games than FPS.

Anyone got Diablo or D2? A nice bit of group RPG would be different.

Can't say I've got any pc racing games in my library but if someone nominated a budget game........?

How about Grand Prix lengends, £4.99 thats ok its an old game , you can get patches to upgrade the graphics, and it takes some mastering LINK

and maybe a game of Jimmy whites Cueball world also £4.99 its a good little snooker & pool game LINK

Then my fav C&C how about Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun again £4.99 for a bit of RTS LINK

and for some mindless fun how about a game of Worms World Party for £7.99 LINK

i have got diablo and would like to see UT2004 added to the above list

Can we add Counterstrike too, or is that past its best now? I'm up for original UT, or Quake 3 for that matter.

Non FPS - Grand Prix Legends I have (and suck), Medieval Total War (up to 8 players online I think, never tried it), Tribes 2 I will have later tonight (the cd key generator is working, just got mine). Worms World Party would be a laugh I think. If others are interested I'll get a copy.

Where are you getting Tribes 2 from fodder as the Fileplanet link is showing as Closed at the moment, and though I've tried negotiating the Sierra site I can't find it free on there either.

Get the Tribes 2 installer here: Get a CD Key here: You need a valid, verified Gamespy account to get a key, but it's free to sign up if you don't have one.

Having got the game but yet to install it I don't know whether it will need patching,
however if it does here's a link to a couple of patches on Fileplanet

CS is fine - although it requires me to download Steam again, and to actually get it working this time too....

I have M:TW too - never tried that one online, as I have enough fun sending my millions of tiny men to their doom against the computer (I really should use tactics more often - blindly charging isn't as good a way forward as I once thought).

I'd be up for some of the original UT - and any of the mods that are available for it, but I must warn you that I'm terrible at it, and any kill I make is more than likely to be a fluke...

CS is good in small doses, When i get back i would be up for a few games aswell as installing DC again!!

If you lot want to play CS then i may know of a server in the next one or 2 months i can get access to, if a clan goes the way it should i may well be able to help with some space for some madness!

Oh, he says, jumping back to Dans first-post - a group RPG would be super fun, and we could all gather and have our amusingly named super characters slayed by a collection of Brownies from Rhyl...

I've not got Diablo 2 at my disposal anymore... isn't there any more recent RPGs that are fun to play online?

Any thoughts on what the next game we gather on should be?

Well we know 3 of us have Tribes2.

And for that matter the DC meet didn't exactly exude a wealth of.....people.

a rerun maybe, or does the lack of numbers mean it's not a popular choice?
