I must say, is it me or has the Arcade proven popular to have attracted quite a number of new forum members. I've only ever been into the Arcade for about a month now and never realised how really competitive that place is. Much thanks for the Admin team for putting up some really fun (and frustrating *cough* Hexxagon) games to keep some of the new & old members busy.
And if any new member is reading this, why don't you pop by in the other areas of the forum. We could always use some new people to make discusions, have laughs, or perhaps gather on an online game and destroy each other. So come on by. As keeping on with the Arcade topic, what the heck is wrong with that last boss guy on Fight Man. He's just too hard with his super *kick you to the sky & beat the living hell out of you* combo skills. And what do you have in your moves, just a mini combo & a flip & kick lol. It's so unfair! |

I want to repeat those thanks to the head heijuns for the arcade. Most of the games are a blast, only take 5 minutes to play and it's always nice to have a bit of competition. How about some Tournaments?
Fight Man is beyond me Naoki, I bow to your skill. My only move is the keyboard mash :) |

Tournaments are a nice idea, but you all cheat... As can be seen by the fact that I'm not top of every high score in the Arcade (bar Frogger, which I'm not allowed to play any more  )
If people are interested though, I see no harm in it... |

Accusing us of cheating Mr Pig? Can it be that your just jealous that we are all better than you :P, including Mrs Pig of course :D. Although I don't know what to say with Rebel=UK='s ridculous score on the Helicopter game !
As for Fight Man, you wouldn't believe how many goes I had to play on that since that game is quite glitchy i.e. when the enemies are off the screen, they sometimes get stuck and so can't come back which means I'm stuck doing nothing as well. I wouldn't mind seeing a Tournament going on though! Would be another way of us forum members competing with each other instead of the casual online game gatherings we have that involves guns or tanks & high fragging scores. |

So what games would be favourite for playing tournaments on? A few nominations please.
(I for one quite fancy ZooKeeper :P ) |

Only cause you are good at it lol. You *was* the leading champ at one time. Anyways I don't mind what game, as long its one that I can actually play & beat *cough* Fightman & Hexxagon *cough* Was just beating Fightman yet again earlier on and now I've got a very bad left wrist from bashing my keyboard buttons too much. Looks like RSI lol! |

How does it work? Does it need to be a single game or can it be more than one? Is it knock-out or league? Who can setup tournaments? What's the average annual rainfall of the Amazon Basin? So many questions, so little brain. |

The Pig has assured the rest of the admin team that it's simple ( but he so often says that).
Apparently we need 8 bodies(well 8 or less, but 8 would be more fun) to put themselves forward for a tournament, and then I assume we have to specify the game. Once we reach that stage we'll attempt the actual setting up :P
That seems to be the admin bunch - but should any of you want one, bell us and we'd be happy to do so. This post has been edited by DanMaggot on Jul 16 2004, 10:02 |

Tournaments are knockout-styled, based on one game - the admin people set up the actual tournament settings (number of players, game) and then it's up to forum members to register for the tournament....
Sounds simple in theory.... |

Tis probably best that we leave the tournaments until the next release of the Arcade, or until I get around to installing the appropriate mod... but I wouldn't hold your breath on that one..
Just to say that I've added a few new games today, and since time is short have neglected to give a fair few of them descriptions - but surely the joy of arcade games is that you don't need detailed instructions? Anyhow, any errors/typos/strange inability to gain a high score - post about them here, and I shall attempt to rectify things Cheerie bye! |

Whilst Flamingo drive works and is a beaut of a a game it doesn't seem to want to save high scores........
Or is it only my high scores? |
