Ground Control can now be downloaded free of charge from those kind people at Fileplanet - this download is 670MBs and contains the full game of Ground Control and a multiplayer demo of Ground Force 2.
I'm not going to complain... it's free! |

This (among several others) is one of the games that reminded me how dire I am at RTS games. Nevertheless it's a good game, visually pretty and very involving.

I've always wanted to try this game a long time ago, but since its now free, can't say no to that! I do remember reading sometime ago that this game is incompatible with Windows XP. Although it doesn't harm to try it out still.

It runs just fine under XP - although the speech does have a tendancy to skip in places, and repeat endlessly in others (although this is mainly during the briefing, so isn't all that irriatating).
