Digital Illusions today announced that development is underway on the sequel to Battlefield 1942? PC game. Battlefield 2 ?, scheduled for release in spring 2005, moves the franchise forward in time to invade the high tech frontlines of modern warfare. Looks like it could be an ok game!
But: "Armed with the latest modern weaponry, players can take control of any of the game?s 30+ vehicles to engage in major conflicts with over 100 players in some of the largest online battles on the PC". That sounds like a HEAVY resource drain to me! I hope they do a map editor for it, hopefully one that'll allow folks to create single player missions too (unlike Battlecraft 1942/Vietnam, which is a MAJOR disappointment to me as I can't see the point of hosting a game for as few as half a dozen other people and testing a map on your own is dull as.....well, a dull thing) |

Hello!
I pop in from time to time - I'm still in Manchester (there has been... problems... with the move, although I hope it'll all be resolved within the next two weeks), sadly, I lack the net connection to loiter for as long as I'd like too... and there's only so much coffee that you can drink in these darn net cafes... how I yearn for a decent keyboard... So, back into the netless void I must go. :( |

I found a better place for some BF2 videos.
Battlefield 2 Videos Edit- All I can say is wow!! Looks just like a better graphical version of DC, but looking like some Hollywood movie in some areas. And if that really is the in-game graphics of the game then better expect an upgrade of some sort. |

Woo. Pretty neat. I was sceptical that the graphics were anything better before I watched the trailers. This looks like something that will keep me wanting more for the coming months/years before its release.

Looks like there was a glimpse of that Commander mode thing and that was pretty interesting. Not sure it has to do with the guy that was in the helicopter but could be since you could get a view of the level from it. The video with the guy and tank was pretty funny though.
So we've seen a little of the U.S vs Middle East Coalition in a whole DC/Hollywood style fight. I hope to see more new videos especially involving China and how they would come into play. |
