My old Radeon 8500 Graphics card simply won't run it, Ordep! It's supposed to be a knockout, I know, but highly graphics and processor intensive! Could never get the demo to run :(

Yes i have played a borrowed game..( cough) seems very very sweet...not played online yet..until i do tend to hold judgement well after cod on line i got very disapointed with spending £30 on games which i will only play online..

Yeah, great game - just started playing it - cranked all the settings to max and it was very jerky - even on medium it is sometimes jerky and that it with a v good specc'd machine.

I am still starting out on it but would be a lot easier with a sniper rifle. Where can I find one on the first Island level ?

hmmm im running everything on high 32bit 1024x768 and mine runs smoooth , whats ya specs?

I seem to remember that there is a sniper rifle in pretty much the same location as it was in the demo......which may well count as the second Island. (Sorry bout that. :P )

This said I found the sniper rifle to be a mixed blessing. You get very little ammo for it and it's slow to fire. You'd do better to position yourself more carefully before opening up. If you're going to use it try and shoot the trooper in charge, and if poss the radio man, then dump the rifle for another fast firing weapon.

Thanks for the tips Dan. Did you finish the demo. I'm finding it pretty difficult at the mo.

My spec is Athlon 2200 processor, 512MB Ram, 128MB Geforce 4 Ti, 120 GB hard-drive. It auto-selects medium rather than high/v high. Anything I am missing ?

Ordep - I played the demo as far as I could before it glitched. Which got me just past the point where a heli lands a bunch of people on your head on the top of the ruins and there's a ship shelling you from below.

I then bought the game. :P

Kristen - I have the same set up (Rebel the TI is titanium and is just one of a variant form of Geforce cards) as you (except twice the memory) and whilst I can't remember what I'm running it on (haven't played it for a few weeks) I'd much rather smooth play than drop jaw graphics so maybe you should drop your resolution a bit.
