This was something Pilch was saying to me on MSN before he went off to galavant with Devon women and their Cider-y charms...

It goes a little something along the lines of:

To increase the size of the entire frontpage aspect of the site, so it's just not a home page with a forum bolted on - why not ask members to write guides to some of the more popular games? You could have guides on how to fly certain vehicles in Battlefield 1942, a run down of which guns are good for what in CS, sneaky tactics to use in MoH, and maybe some for games that aren't even first person shooters :P

So, any thoughts?

I recently bought Deus Ex from Ebay for £1.20.(Mint,boxed etc)

I'd never played it before, and, considering it is hailed as,arguably,1 of the top 5 PC games ever made, installed it with some eagerness.

I fired up the game and couldn't wait to get stuck-in to the game that had given Half-Life a run for it's money

And....

What a load of RUBBISH!!!

The graphics are crap(No openGL....bloody direct3d garbage)

The voice acting is crap.

The gameplay is.....erm.....crap.

I was expecting a landmark game,an unforgettable experience.

All I experienced was disappointment.

A couple of days later I uninstalled it and gave the lot to my mate, who bought it years ago,but his disk gave up the ghost recently.

Cheers.

Shirl.

There....My first ever review

If you use it on your venerable website, please send a cheque for £75 to me..I'll pm you my banking details ;)

I think any way of expanding the reach of the site is a good thing. And I especially like the idea of reviews, walkthrough's and FAQs for both recent and past games.

I would however ask that we don't suddenly all post reviews, walkthrough's and FAQs for BF1942....and nothing else.

But otherwise it gets my vote.

So, we're agreed upon the fact that this is a fine idea?

Good, good.

Do you think it would it be better that the submissions were put through the forum, or e-mailed?

e-mail would be better cause then you admin guys can check it and re-edit some bits i.e. spellings and mistakes and then put them up somewhere!

Naoki Maeda you are too kind, to say nothing of inaccurate in suggesting that the admin team can spell.

Well, we Can spell, it's just not really English.

The language we use is that of the forum writer throughout the net, it is a language that says " I know what I want to say and if I don't type it quick I'm gonna forget my point cause I'm a games player with a short attention....thingy" It also says " I can just about remember where the fire button on my joystick is but 26 letters? Come on, be real man."

You just mean you want to be able to blame the poor spelling and english on the admin team. Which is fair enough, it's what we're here for. I think.
